BERT REX

Who is the Magician BERT REX?   Like many other people, Bert Rex was once upon a time - born. This happened in the year 1956 in the place of Bad Frankenhausen. At that time, this small town was in East Germany the socialist part. 
Even as a student and young pioneer, Bert Rex loved to see the funny side of life and he took on the comedic roles in amateur drama productions.  Later he practiced ‘hurting his arse’ while learning horseback riding, encouraged by the 3 Musketeers and d'Artagnan, with whom he spent afternoons at the cinema with as his imaginary friend.  However, it has been said by some that Bert Rex cut a less fine figure on horseback and he should look for another passion in life. 

One day he met Mr. Chance who gave a book about magic into his hands. He has never let go of the Magic!  It turns out this was a very wise decision, as he fell off his horse five times in 3 years, but has only fallen off the stage once in 40 years, much better odds!  In his ‘day job’ (real job) as a teacher, he gave a one year, not funny guest performance at the school. That wasn't his true calling in life and he quit to be an full-time artist.
Luckily because this origin story from 1982 & how it all begin for this mysterious magic man who used comedy in his shows up and down the country and abroad. Bert Rex has performed shows in Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Bulgaria, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Vietnam, Costa Rica, New Zealand....and now Mexico! 

In Germany, Bert Rex hosted in all prestigious variety theatres, at company events, festivals, in town halls and at lets not forget uncle Otto's 50th birthday!  He has also performed on many cruise ships all around the world.
